The Headlands

Bird Death Cove

So I was out at the Marin Headlands this weekend, and made
the trek down to this lovely cove beach. After a short while
I realized the the beach with strewn with the corpses of dead
birds and large piles of so many feathers.

Derieve #1 The Origin

"Everything comes apart this way a move, breath, a
position set against its meaning a stone or many in union
a forest of hard blue plaque cut parts forest of spleen
porcelain un met hallow galaxy underwater hostile neanderthal
egg me wake me egg me giant flower your not here red zombie,
batting clown, dapper women hipster tap dancer speaking in
toe bridges up all night with icons the path bleeding black light
or dark frothing up wing residue, space of dreams met in wax."

Something happens when Marc and I get together and wander
through the neighborhood. Something that embraces what
a collaboration should be. Images and moments surface
that would never occur to us alone.

Objects and locations become characters for the performance
to which the camera is a participant and observer.

[unfortunatly the blog will not allow me to post this
image any larger. please check out the full-size image at

Sat on a Hill #2

Sat on a Hill

With Marc

All about us the old farm subsides.
Summer in our hair and the smell
of summer in our twined bodies -

Summer in the luminous fragmentary
words of your dead child.

just something i liked

caught nestled in the soft edges of the wind
something broken; something lost
this is the first, but there will be others
caught like a cloud of windows flashing

its the aftermath i suppose

sensitive and sallow each breath seeps slower saying less than it wanted
wipe away your mississippi tears my darling, i will keep you still,
keep them still if i could just hold it in my hands, small and round,
and rub its smooth surface for luck
then maybe i would know where to find you
it speaks its a thin line of soft focus
the thin underneath settled there and shifting.
